List of 5 Best Treks in Nepal

Nepal is an adventure playground for nature lovers of the great outdoors. Trekkers can clamber over creaking glaciers, tie prayer flags atop mountain passes, and participate in extreme skiing before resting in the ancient stone villages with front-row seats to look at the wondrous highest peaks of the world. Here is the list of 5 best treks you can experience.

5. Annapurna Circuit Trek

A classic trekking journey that rises as high as 5,416 meters on the Thorang La Pass touching the edge of the Tibetan plateau, this route offers the glorious view of the mountains (Annapurna I-IV, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, Pisang Peak and the Paungda Danda) at close quarters. Passing through the paddy fields into the subtropical forests, you can also encounter several waterfalls and enormous cliffs along the way.

4. Manaslu Circuit Trek

Mount Manaslu is the eighth-highest peak in the world and is located east of Annapurna. Its name is derived from Sanskrit “Manasa” which means “intellect” or “soul” and can be linked to its other name – the mountain of spirits. Inside the Manaslu Conservation Area the trekkers go from the sub-tropical Himalayan foothills to arid high pastures bordering Tibet.

3. Upper Mustang Trek

One of the most distinguished trekking experiences because of its chartreuse terrains, and dry and windy landscape, the Upper Mustang Trek will make you feel like you are in the badlands. This remotely exotic isolated region with the most well-preserved Tibetan Buddhist religion in practice in the entire world was once the Kingdom of Lo.

2. Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The second most famous trekking trail in the country is the journey to the Annapurna Base Camp. Notoriously famous for its mountains and several destinations along the way like Pokhara which offers amazing leisure activities apart from the regular trekking, the “Goddess of Plenty”, which got its name from Sanskrit meaning “full of food”, have bewildered the trekkers from all over the world.

1. Everest Base Camp Trek

Who doesn’t want to see Everest up close? The highest mountain in the world and perhaps that is the reason why it is also the most famous trekking in the country. One cannot see the likeness of the Khumbu regions with its wonderful scenery, the famous Namche Bazaar which is also known as the “gateway to Everest”, Tengboche and Dinboche, this trail includes all the best elements of trekking to the base camp of the world’s tallest peak. Thousands of people from all over the world come here to gaze at the magnificent mountain, and some even try to scale it.
